Idaho State Scholastic Championship announced

Updated: Mar 8, 2022

This past weekend completed the qualifying for the Idaho Scholastic State Championship. The North Regional Scholastic Tournament added 16 more qualifying players to the list of 140 this past weekend. Please see the previous post for an updated list of qualifiers.

To qualify for the Scholastic State Championship players needed to score 3.0 points, or score in the top 3 for each grade. Additionally, all seniors are allowed to play in the state championship event. Alternative means of qualifying included playing in regional opens for all ages or in the prestigious Idaho Closed tournaments.

With all that said, the plan is to crown grade level state champions on Saturday, March 26, and to select our overall champions for each section (K-5th grade, 6th-8th grade, and 9-12th grade). Saturdays event also chooses our national invitational representatives (Rockefeller, Barber, and Denker tournaments). The top three in each section from Saturdays event will be invited to play in the Idaho Tournament of Champions which will select our State Scholastic Champion from the pool of nine players on Sunday, March 27.
