The Idaho Chess Association Board of Directors has discussed fee reductions for tournaments and also changing membership requirements for tournaments. After many months of discussion and obtaining feedback, these are the new fee and prize structures for tournaments this upcoming year.
Premium Tournaments
Pre-registration Discount: $27/player, $23/60+ or U18, $47/family, 80+ and titles free,
Onsite for all $30/player,
ICA and US Chess Membership required.
Norman Friedman Memorial (USChess and NWC Grand Prix)
Prizes: 1st - 3rd place Overall $250, $200, 150, U1800, U1600, U1400, U1200, U1000, Unr each: $50/class.
Idaho Closed (NWC Grand Prix)
Prizes: 1st - 3rd place Overall, Classes B - E, Top Expert, Class A, Junior, Senior, Unrated, Woman
Idaho Open (NWC Grand Prix)
Prizes: 1st - 3rd place Overall $200, $100, 75, U1800, U1600, U1400, U1200, U1000, Unr each: $50/class.
MLK Blitz Championship
Prizes: 1st - 3rd place Overall and Top Scholastic.
Western Idaho Open (NWC Grand Prix)
Prizes: 1st - 3rd place Overall $100, $75, 50, U1800, U1600, U1400, U1200, U1000, Unr each: $50/class.
