Dear Chess Enthusiasts,
We are pleased to announce that the CDA Chess Club's One-Night March Madness Tournament was a success! Twelve players joined us at North Idaho College for an exciting and thrilling evening of chess. We welcomed three new members: Logan Davis, Milo Davis, and Ewen Case who all enjoyed the tournament. Special thanks to Mike for his support and guidance in coaching our newcomers and helping them get comfortable with the activities.
The results of the tournament were impressive, with Nick taking first place in Group A with a perfect 3-0 score followed by Eric who placed second at 2-1. Lindsay had an outstanding performance with a perfect 3-0 score in Group B and Nate placed second at 2-1. In addition, Logan was undefeated with a score of 2-0 in rated games, Ewen scored 1-1, and Milo ended up 0-2. Nick also had the largest rate increase of the night at +70, followed by Lindsay who gained +65.
