The State Scholastic Championship is fast approaching on March 2 and there are approximately 82 players already qualified. There is only two more chances to qualify for the Scholastic Championship - the West Regional Scholastic Tournament and the Idaho Closed. Better sign up for at least one of those lest you be left without a way to enter the State Scholastic Tournament for a chance to become Idaho's representative to the national invitational tournaments. Everyone is nervous! Everyone is excited! This is what State Competition is all about. There are nearly 75 kiddos qualified for the State Scholastic Championships, so far, so relax if you are on this list. These players have completed: two alternative US Chess Federation rated tournaments, played in the Idaho Closed, or received a 1st-3rd placement in their grade at the regional tournaments.
